Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is included in the tour price?

    All transportation related fees, guide fee, all standard tasting fees, and a gourmet picnic lunch* are included in the tour price. A gratuity for your guide is NOT included for groups of 6 or less. An 18% gratuity will be added for all groups of 6 or more.

    (*Guests booking the Santa Barbara City Tour will have lunch at a local restaurant. Lunch is not included in the tour price.)

  2. Which wineries will we go to?

    Every tour is different! Each of our tours is thoughtfully curated to satisfy the personal wine preferences and expectations of our guests. Preferred varietals and/or wine styles, level of interest in education, and how one prioritizes purchasing wine are just a few of the details we consider while designing your unique Coastal Concierge experience.

    Appointments are not required in advance for groups with less than 6 guests, therefore which wineries you visit will be discussed with your guide during your tour.

    Our Reserve Wine Tour is an exception to this, as two private (not open to the public) experiences are guaranteed with the tour regardless of group size. For Reserve Wine Tour guests or groups of 6 or more (any tour type) appointments will be coordinated in advance. Itinerary details for these tours are available upon request.

  3. Can we request specific wineries to visit?

    Absolutely! We will make every effort to accommodate your requests. Please note that all requests are subject to availability, and appointments at wineries that are not open to the public are only guaranteed for our Reserve Wine Tour guests.

  4. What is included in the gourmet picnic lunch?

    We use French tablecloths, cloth napkins, and real dishes and flatware to create a beautiful setting for our picnic lunch. The lunch includes:

    • Herb-breaded and cashew-crusted chicken breast
    • Pasta salad
    • Green salad (groups of 7 or more only)
    • Cheese board
    • Fresh fruit
    • Sliced baguette (baked fresh daily)
    • WINE IS NOT PROVIDED, but is available for purchase
    • Bottled water is provided for all guests throughout the day

    Please note that the lunch offerings are subject to change without notice. The picnic lunch may be substituted (without notice) for restaurant lunch in the event of unfavorable weather.

  5. Can the picnic lunch be modified to accommodate dietary restrictions/allergies?

    Yes. We can provide a vegetarian lunch at no additional cost to the guest. We offer the following modifications for an additional $10 per person:

    • Vegan
    • Gluten free
    • Poached salmon in place of chicken

    If a guest has a nut allergy (or other severe allergy), a restaurant lunch will be provided as we cannot guarantee food preparation. The tour will be discounted accordingly. Please contact us regarding any other dietary restrictions/allergies and we will make every effort to accommodate.

  6. What kind of a vehicle will we travel in?

    All of our tours are private, meaning that you will only share a vehicle with your party and your guide. Every vehicle utilized for our tours is unmarked, comfortable, and well-appointed.

    • Groups of 5 or less will travel in a SUV
    • Groups of 6 will either travel in a SUV or a Mercedes Sprinter van
    • Groups of 7 to 13 will travel in a Mercedes Sprinter van
    • Groups of 14 or more will travel in either a Mercedes Sprinter van or an executive coach
  7. What is the cancellation policy?

    Group of 6 People or Less
    If a tour is cancelled between 48 and 24 hours prior to the agreed upon pick up time, the group will be charged a $200 cancellation fee. In the event a tour is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the group will be charged for the full price of the tour.

    A guarantee of the group size is required 72 hours prior to the agreed upon pick up time. 

    Group of 7 People or More
    If a tour is cancelled between 72 and 48 hours prior to the agreed upon pick up time, the group will be responsible for paying 20% of the tour price. If cancelled between 48 and 24 hours prior to the agreed upon pick up time, the group will be responsible for paying 50% of the tour price. In the event a tour is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the group will be charged for the full price of the tour.

    A guarantee of the group size is required one week prior to the agreed upon pick up time.
